Charge your worth’ is lazy advice, here’s what actually helped!

I bumped into a client unexpectedly the other day. She smiled and told me she was off to host another event. She said, “You’d be proud of me. I’m finally charging my worth.”

She was right. I was proud but not for the reason you might think. Yes, we’d had conversations in our sessions about pricing, margins, and the impact of higher fees on her cash flow. But I had never actually told her to charge her worth.

Because I don’t believe “you shoulds” work, not really, not sustainably.

This is why her decision was so powerful:

• She came to it herself.

• She ran the numbers.

• She understood the cost of sales.

• She aligned the pricing to the financial targets she’d been working toward.

• And most importantly, she owned it.

There was no second-guessing. No wobble. She had found her worth and moved forward with confidence.

And here’s the best part: she won’t go back.

When we make empowered decisions from within, not because we were told to, or felt we “should”, we step forward in a way that sticks.

That’s the work I love doing, not fixing, not directing, but guiding people back to their own truth underneath the noise.

Very few of us like being told what to do or defaulting into “just tell me what to do” mode.
